A mirror that makes me go WoW!

If you are wondering what happened to the photo of the fantastic mirror that was blogged here earlier this evening, I’ve pulled the post because a comment was left telling me that the mirror was actually a work by Laurel Skye.

Sure enough when I checked out her website, I found the mirror. If you are curious to see this amazing mirror, look for “Waves of Calm”.
It’s absolutely beautiful as is all of Laurel’s work.

So I’ve pulled the picture most reluctantly from here because I think the flickr poster has breached copyright. Probably with the best of intentions… but I can’t keep the photo up here.


Epiphany

It’s Three Kings or Epiphany as my mother would remind me as she started taking down the Christmas decorations. Today is the day to get them down and put away for next year.
So how did Epiphany arise? Well, the Eastern Orthodox Christian Churches celebrate the birth of Jesus now, not on December 25. The Western churches recognise it as the end of the Twelve Days of Christmas.
In Ireland, especially in Cork County, this day is known as Nollaig na mBan (Women’s Christmas) as well as Little Christmas. The men take over the duties of the women in their lives and the women take a day off!
