I can happily say from personal experience that the Art Deco of Miami Beach is worth checking out with its tropical flavour. Mosaic was a feature of that time period so you can find interesting mosaic as well as the spectacular architecture.
There are a few examples from flickr…

You’ve created your masterpiece. You have the perfect wall in your house. But what’s the best way of attaching it to that wall so that it won’t come crashing down and giving someone a serious head injury?

This question came up on the Moz Addict list today and Sonia King had words of wisdom and suggested a Z clip or French cleft system.

Z clips are often used in tile roofing so that may be a place to start if you don’t know where to find them.

A progress report on my coffee table top.
It looks a bit different with the blue than I visualised but it still is okay and I’m reasonably happy with it. My glass cutting is improving although I’m continuously having to tighten the wheels on my cutters.

I’m glad I picked the Aboriginal motif as the naive style covers up a lot of defects and I can focus on parts of technique without having to get super pedantic about others.
