One of my friends mentioned that she would love a birdbath. I’d make one for her but she lives in the USA so it isn’t exactly practical for either of us. But that shouldn’t stop me blogging about birdbaths at least.

Mosaic Birdbaths is a flickr photoset by thunder_rd2001 which shows the process of making a birdbath.
From hanging around various mosaic mailing lists, the easiest way to go adhesive-wise is thinset [aka exterior concrete adhesive]. It won’t poison the birds like some of the others and can take extremes of weather. It also doesn’t dissolve when exposed to water.
Some people have gotten away with using an exterior grade PVA such as Weldbond but you would have to seal it extremely well. This stuff dissolves in water. The last thing you need is tiles popping off.

And the title of this post? It comes from the”Rockin’ Robin” song which my daughter just happens to be learning at school.

These are goregous birdbaths! Puts a smile on my face! How do you clean them? Bleach?
